Patients' Rights

Each patient has the right to:

  • Be treated with dignity and respect 

  • Privacy and confidentiality of information

  • Make informed decisions

  • Participate in all aspects of care 

  • Establish an advanced directive

  • Impartial access to care

  • Full financial information

  • Know identity and professional status of all healthcare workers

  • Participate voluntarily in research and educational projects

  • Full knowledge of their rights and responsibilities in receiving healthcare

  • Patients have the right to expect information about pain and pain relief measures

  • Patients have the right to be free from any device that restricts movements and isolation of any form, unless their caregivers determine that these measures are necessary

  • Patients have the right to access protective services
